Anti-Cellulite Skin Care Cream

Cellulite is the term commonly used to describe pockets of fat that cause dimpling of the skin, often referred to as orange peel effect. Cellulite is much more common in women than men due to the structure of the fat cells that lie underneath the surface of the skin. There are a huge number of skin care creams that claim to be able to help reduce or even completely eliminate cellulite.

Around 90% of women will develop cellulite at some stage in their lives, and it is generally found on the thighs, bum and stomach areas. Contrary to common belief, cellulite isn’t something that only affects women who are overweight, in fact it can affect any shape or size of woman.  There are many different factors that can cause cellulite to form, and these range from hormones to preganancy to diet and physical activity levels. Cellulite creams come in many shapes and forms, and while some of the claims may well be over exaggerated, there is no doubt that some of the creams on the market can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Skin Care Cream for Stretch Marks

Stretch marks can occur almost anywhere on the body, and are usually as a result of gaining or losing weight quickly. While our skin is incredibly elastic, it does have a limit as to how far it can stretch before it starts breaking down. The two main components of our skins elasticity are collagen and elastin, and once the skin is stretched past a certain point they can no longer work effectively. There are many skin care creams that can help alleviate not only the apperance, but also the occurance of stretch marks.

Stretch marks actually occur in the dermis of the skin, which is the middle layer. This layer consists of collagen, which gives your skin it’s elasticity. If this layer is subjected to prolonged periods of stretching, it will begin to loose it’s elasticity, which prompts the body to produce more collagen in the affected area. This then creates scars at the dermis level which show through as stretch marks on the surface of the skin. It is true that some people seem more prone to stretch marks that others, and this is purely down to the differences in skin structure meaning some peoples skin is more elastic and durable than others. Unfortunately there is no way of telling if you are prone to stretch marks until you start to notice you have them, however there are many skin care creams on the market that can help you reduce the appearance and recurrence of stretch marks in the future.

Skin Brightening Creams

Many people have an uneven skin tone, and this can be caused by many different factors. For some people it is a result of sun damage, for others it may be marks left by acne. No matter what the cause of the uneven pigmentation of your skin, there are ways to correct it, however you have to be very careful what you use, as there are some brightening skin care creams that can damage fine or sensitive skin.

Even those that follow a wonderful skin care regime can find they have patches of darker skin here and there, and this is referred to by dermatologists as hyper-pigmentation. Providing you have ruled out some of the internal factors that can cause hyper-pigmentation such as excessive iron intake, deficiency of some vitamins such as A, B and E or even hormonal changes such as pregnancy or menopause, then you should be able to effectively even out your skin tone with one of the many skin brightening creams that are on the market.

There are many skin care creams that claim to be able to give you a smoother, clearer, fresher looking complexion with regular use, with most being able to give results within around 3 weeks of consistent use. However, for significantly darker patches, you may well need to use your brightening creams for up to a year to get a perfect skin tone. There are many different types of creams available, so you will be able to pick and choose one that suits you best. The most common active ingredient in skin lightening creams is Hydroquinone, however some people find they are not able to tolerate this on their skin. If you find that you seem to be having a reaction of some kind to a skin lightening cream that has Hydroquinone as it’s active ingredient, then you should discontinue use and look for a cream that has ingredients such as glycolic acid or tretinoin in.

It is worth remembering that you are in effect bleaching your skin everso slightly when using these kinds of creams, so if you have sensitive skin you should always test the cream on a small area of facial skin first. Many companies offer free samples so you can try their products before you buy, just so you can be sure it is compatible with your skin. Take advantage of these offers and try out a few creams so you can find the one that suits your skin best in terms of leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth. It is always important, no matter what kind of skin care cream you are looking to buy, to make sure that it is right for your skin and that you are going to get maximum benefits from it.
